Tips and good advice on skirting boards and architraves Classic for concealing wires and cables:

Question: What cables can I conceal?

Answer: All double insulated cables can be concealed. A double insulated cable consists of internal and external layers of insulation.

When mounting a plug socket or the like, only sealed boxes should be used that can only be opened using tools. Allowing cables to wrap gently around corners is a big advantage, as this prevents any unnecessary radiation escaping that can interfere with other electrical appliances. This can be achieved by cutting channels for internal corners or drilling at an angle through external corners. Always check local and national legislation! If in doubt, contact a qualified electrician.

Question: How can I avoid a large gap at external corners?

Answer: If the wall is uneven, it can be difficult to mount plastic mouldings flush to the wall around external corners. If both surfaces are glued and clips are mounted closer to the corner than recommended in the fitting instructions, even large irregularities can be concealed.
