Plastic as a building material Plastic is a consistent material which - unlike wood - will not chip and has no knots or splinters. Plastic is resistant to moisture and cannot be attacked by rot or fungus. Plastic is a strong material that is also flexible and supple, and it has no problems following irregularities in flooring, walls or ceilings, for example.
